I drove my 911 100 miles to the track. Beat on it for 4 sessions. Drove home- 19 mpg :)
I believe his real dream was to defraud thousands of people, take the money and run.......
I believe the font bumper on the turbo is slightly different.
A friend removed the oil filter cannister on his 2008 RS60 Boxster and saw metallic shavings in the folds of the removed filter element, as well as in the oil that he allowed to drip into a 'catch' pan. Needless to say, his IMS had already deteriorated with his car's engine being considered 'Totaled' within two days of the oil change. He's looking at a $15,000 engine replacement on a car that had 70,000 miles on it.
The modern story like a Tucker. It was killed by the big 5.
I have a 21 GT blacktop version we love the truck but getting a headache with my driver side daylight running light going out. I see it’s a common issue on all durangos
There fast
my manual 99 996.1 cable throttle cab has been on/off daily for 7 years. Very practical and satisfying except in stop/go traffic. Switch to your automatic vehicle for those when predictable.
I’m a fan of the 1999 996.1 with the cable driven throttle body, but then I may be bias. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience.
Let me think… Over the years my 2002 996 issues have been: Air conditioner condensador Slave cylinder O2 sensors/ clogged cats Shifter bushings Ignition cylinder Head/tail Light knob Front/ Rear hatch switches Maintenance items other oil change: Shocks Brake pads Clutch I think that’s it.
Thanks for sharing the run down of your experience.
Too high asking price, and a saturated market. Hold on to your Porsches for now, prices are beginning to rise.
Everytime I get behind the wheel I’m glad I didn’t sell, so it may have worked out for the best.
This is the goal, get one of these and drive it everywhere! Who knows, with a 911 I might be able to make my 8 minute commute turn into a 15 or 20 minute commute!
That’s especially true if there is a route that has plenty of curves. Thanks for watching and the time to comment.
5.00 gallon and you think that's expensive it's coming to Greece
It is expensive for the US. I know other places pay much more due to things like much higher taxes (when I was younger and lived in New Zealand gas was pretty expensive there), but in the US $5.00 a gallon for gas is considered very high, when the average price right now is about $3.50 a gallon.
Just daily drive a Taycan 🥵
Fair point.
Complaining about gas prices in the US? Might as well just make a video about how you don't travel.
Oh I lived in New Zealand when I was younger, but that doesn’t make me stop complaining about the gas prices. It’s the American way! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
In Europe 9 dollars per gallon is normal. So yeah. At those prices I should daily a 996
Wow $9.00 is crazy expensive compared to here. Where I am regular is current about $3.25 a gallon and premium is about $3.65 a gallon. It is cheaper in some other states, but Florida is usually around the national average.
@@OurRideLifejust under $3 here. Just filled up for 2.85 yesterday.
Fuel consumption is better on my 991 than my Range Rover🥲
Fair point. Our family Dodge Durange usually gets a bit worse that my old 996. The only thing that keeps the Durango cheaper to run in gas is that it uses regular instead of premium gasoline. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
@@OurRideLife Same😄
Is that a question?? I know lots of people who daily there 911, that’s why people get them. You can take them on track, drive across country and take it shopping!
I guess I should have added that this is largely intended to be sent to anyone that may be preventing you from getting a 911 because they think it is just a weekend car. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
I always get a kick out of people putting down the Tip, they obviously never drove a power glide or TH350.
I used to say I would never own a Porsche with a Tiptronic and then I drove one and now I own one. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Missed filming the only part everyone has trouble with, fitting the center cap.. it never just pops right in.. if it was so easy, re-filming would have been also..
Audi r8 More Italian Of german’s cars
The 718 base model is more car than anyone can use on the streets. Irrespective of the 4 cylinders. If you want to track the car, sure, there are better cars. As a daily, however, unbeatable.
A base 718 could run circles around my old 911. They are good cars and one thing I forgot to point out is that they are more tunable being turbocharged. The main complaint some have is note liking the exhaust note. I think they can still sound good, but some don’t like to, so just depends on who you talk to. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
Nice video, will definetly tune in again. Just subbed aswell
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching, subscribing and taking the time to comment.
I fully agree with you. I sold my 997 and kept the 996. I have a couple 986s. The. Sound is actually better but I do prefer the 911 drive. 991s and 992s are too big and complex. I would never get one unless it was a GT car.
Enjoy your 996 and 986s as often as you can. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience.
I would love to “settle” for a Cayman but in order for me to daily drive it I need back seats for the off chance I need to take the family somewhere. As for the Boxster, my design ego will never accept a convertible as attractive. 😔
I get what you saying about the back seats. I know that I use them when I take my kids places in my old 911. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Can someone explain to me why some UA-camrs have music in the background so loud that it's hard to understand what they're saying? Especially when you take into account that the American language (hehe) is not the native language of everyone on this planet.
Probably because those that don’t have a large enough following do the editing themselves and it takes a while to learn how to do all of the editing. For example, it wasn’t until recently that I learned how to edit the gain better for sound to better differentiate between the voice and the background sound. Still learning as I go. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
New for me. Im not living in the past they look weird
Very poor lighting. Invest in some equipment.
That investment has been made and the newer videos have much better lighting. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
If only the pendulum effect didn’t exist. With the engine in the back like a beetle, I still keep comparing the two.
The deciding factor for me is the pleasure of belonging to the fellowship of Corvette owners!
Why Elio don't cooperate with Tesla to produce a cheapest and affordable car ? If you lack money , you can join with other car companies to make your dream come true !
Family time is #1! They grow up so very fast.
It'll be a fun car to drive. Patience is the key.
I've got a 986 boxster s with tiptronic, it's perfect for daily driving and it certainly kicks ass pretty quickly when you floor the accelerator pedal
We have a rt would say do what your budget allows and dont go over. The feel of the hemi is great but im pretty sure the v6 will do just fine. Also take care of it youll be fine
Tretronic transmission junkyard..I rather keep regular manual transmission ahhhhhhhhhhh....
What colour is this?
It was tough to keep up with you on all the 99X’s. It would have been easier for me if you just gave the model years.
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll try to use the model years in the future.
I was so excited when I heard about this 7ish years ago. I almost put down a reservation but went "Wait, let's wait for full release or wave 2 to make sure the bugs are ironed out." and seeing this just made me go oof. I remember thinking it was a year or two out because why would they take orders so soon, but now I see it was a never was. :c
I have both. The Cayman is my daily driver and nimble. 3k pounds and mid engine means 45 mph corners while sleeping. The Vet is my highway mental therapy and all speed.
I found most people who like manuals dont even know how to change gear properly, and going from 6th to 3rd will destroy your engine, add to the the possibility of over reving, and the manual needs a new clutch anywhere from 60-100K mils where as the PDK last the life of the car. its a no brainer.
Classic all day long not sure what they were doing with the redesign of the newer chargers in my opinion
PDK stands for Porsche Dual Klucth
not quite...
@acooper1037 Mind to tell me what is it?
Doppelkupplungsgetriebe
@@acooper1037 Does that mean dual clutch? Am I right??
@@roafelix8198 "Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe" it is what PDK stands for, translated it means Porsche dual-clutch transmission so not quite.........................
Have the same car except mine is a carrera 4. And you taught me a lot im this simple video. Thanks. Now I am gonna scroll your channel
It's not a scam. Paul was simply unable to raise enough money to actually build the thing. One major mistake made was they wanted to design their own engine from scratch and use that, which is a very expensive thing to do. They should have used an existing engine for much less money. That would have given them more of a chance to actually build the cars, sell them, and have some profit.. In time, when cash was less of a problem, they could have designed and built their own engine.
Well, we all know exactly what Walther Röhrl said about the Tiptronic back then. Andxwhy he pulled out of the product launch 😂 Also, it wasn't really made by Porsche, it was Daimler.
I was going to click the like button but it was on number 911. So I left it alone. :) But great video!
I have a 991.1 c4s came with full options, but no sport steering wheel. How can I upgrade to the 991.2 steering wheel?
I spanked a Caynne in my Hellcat the other day.
Hrhjrfj
3 months in and my rear engine 997.2 GTS is still encouraging me to push harder as not once has the tail gotten loose and I drive her hard. Just stayed on the rear of an awd turbo for 40 miles in western N. Carolina, at the expense of overspray and scratch but man it's butt is planted and the turbo driver commented about his disbelief that every time he looked in his rear view there I was. I'll keep seeking in small increments but dang Porsche dialed in this car.
